I don’t know when I became so fascinated with being in the kitchen. I’ve always loved food. And my parents taught me how to cook (except how to boil eggs, I still call my mom every time I want/need one). But I think that my love of cooking grew over time. I have always enjoyed entertaining. Another skill taught by my parents. And I think that my desire to share more and better foods with friends and family lead to me cooking and experimenting with food more. My refusal to believe that I couldn’t make something because it was too difficult (except for those darn boiled eggs) probably played into it a little as well. Now I find myself talking about food all the time with friends. We text each other about what we made for dinner last night. So what better than to start a blog where I can share all of these great recipes?
But food isn’t everything. I married my best friend less than a year ago (who is a blast to cook with). We are constantly on the go. Between the gym, our overly needy dogs, spending time with friends, seeing movies, reading, our ministry, all the other fun stuff we do, and of course, work, our lives are pretty full. So the need for simple (but still tasty) meals are a necessity for us. So bear with me as I try to figure out this cooking thing and maybe along the way I will figure out how to boil an egg!
Come on Jackie…you left out one of your biggest inspirations as a teenager. Working at Winn Dixie!
Oh, the things we try to forget!
She also forgot all the cooking lessons she got in Disney 🙂
